“I work nutrition claims end to end for independent RDs, and I built Farela from those claims.”
Javier AlvarezCo-founder, FarelaThe chart is free. Farela charts each session, bills it, and shows you how your practice is doing.

“This team understands the work of a dietitian — not just the session, but the documentation, billing and admin behind it. Charting is significantly easier, claims are easy to submit, and I can see that I’m actually being paid for my work. I had been considering hiring administrative support; instead, I get to spend more of my time being a dietitian.”

Units
A session timer for time-based CPT codes, 97802, 97803 and 97804 included. It shows how long until the next billable unit and when each one landed, and it pops out into a small window that stays on top of your video call.

The EHR is free: chart, clients, scheduling, session recording, transcripts, AI notes, and the Practice Better import. Farela charges no monthly fee, and the EHR needs no card on file. Billing costs 3.9% of what an insurer pays on each claim. To bill, you also need your own payer enrollments and your own Claim.MD account, which you pay Claim.MD for directly. Claim.MD sets its own prices, currently $30 to $120 a month; check Claim.MD for current plans. Because the fee is a share of what the insurer pays, a claim the insurer pays nothing on carries no Farela fee. Claim.MD still bills you for your plan either way.
No. Farela builds the claim from what you documented and works out the units from the recorded session length. You review it, sign it, and press Submit, and it goes out under your NPI through your own Claim.MD account. After that, Farela reads the remittance, matches the payment to the claim, and translates denial codes on it into plain English.
You don't have to trust it. You can check it. The note is written from the session transcript and shows the quotes it drew on, so you can compare what the note says with the transcript. Nothing is signed until you sign it, and if a required section like the PES statement is still empty, Farela lists it before you lock the note.
It doesn't submit claims for you, check eligibility or benefits, handle prior authorizations or appeals, detect clawbacks, or send patient statements. There's no patient portal, no intake forms, and no video visits. Recording runs alongside the video call you already use.
Nothing. The import is one-way: your clients and their insurance come over to Farela, and nothing is written back to Practice Better.
Press Create account and sign up in the app: an email and password, a confirmation code, then a short setup. The EHR needs no card on file. Farela is for US registered dietitians billing Medical Nutrition Therapy under CPT 97802, 97803, and 97804.
